Isle of Man Worker Migrant Visa

The Isle of Man Worker Migrant Visa allows you to live and work in the Isle of Man once an Isle of Man employer has offered you a skilled job. The Worker Migrant Visa allows you and your family members to apply for a visa to join you living in the Isle of Man. The visa, initially, lasts for three years and fourteen days and there is the option to extend if for another three years.

The Worker Migrant Visa allows you and your family to visit the UK, Channel Islands and the Republic of Ireland as a domestic traveller whilst living in the Isle of Man. This is referred to as the Common Travel Area (CTA).

Isle of Man Worker ICT Migrant Visa (ICT)

The Isle of Man Worker ICT Migrant Visa (ICT) is used when your current employer wishes to transfer you, as an existing employee, from outside the EEA to its Isle of Man office to either fill a specific role or to train other employees for a maximum of five years. Your family can also move with on this visa.

The Isle of Man Worker ICT Migrant Visa (ICT) does not lead to Indefinite Leave to Remain in other words, your right to settle in the Isle of Man and therefore you would need to be on another visa to eventually apply for this.

The Intra-Company Migrant Visa allows you and your family to visit the UK, Channel Islands and the Republic of Ireland as a domestic traveller whilst living in the Isle of Man. This is referred to as the Common Travel Area (CTA).

Work Permits

The Isle of Man uses work permits to find skilled workers, grow the economy and protect employment opportunities.

A work permit is required by anyone wishing to work in the Isle of Man who is not an Isle of Man worker. There are nine ways that you can be an Isle of Man worker and we can assist in helping you clarify this.  There are exemptions for work permits within specific industries. Your spouse can apply for a one-year spousal work permit once your work permit has been obtained.

Spouse, Cohabiting or Civil Partnership Work Permit

The Isle of Man offers an automatic 1-year for EEA Nationals or non EEA Nationals with the relevant visa of Isle of Man work permit holders.
